I ve been using Bullguard for a good few years now after discovering that Norton was slowing my PC down big time and you try ridding your PC of it. It doesn t want to go. Then along came Bullguard.

How I found out about it was that my PC got a bad Malware attack and could not get rid of it. A friend suggested Bullguard. I installed it and within no time it got rid of it. I ve used it ever since. This new version is the best yet without doubt especially with the new gaming mode if you re into online gaming and the parental controls are brilliant. It has everything such as Antivirus of course, Spam filter for email protection a totally adjustable firewall, backup facility, brilliant 24/7 online support icluding the forums and this all covers upto three computers from your address.

One of my favourite aspects of this is the parental control. It s brilliant. You can set everything up like what time you want your child to have access to the internet, what content such as Sexual, racial, alcohol, gambling, peer to peer, social media etc. You can control all this and it s password protected. If you feel the need to set this up bullguard also keeps a log of your childs website visits and if they ve tried to visit banned sites or if they ve tried to guess your security password. Times, dates the lot. It may seem a bit extreme but in todays world it may be required. I ve stopped my 14 year old lad from accessing certain sites he was visiting and it s on a timer too so during the school week it just. . . turns off. This is all dead easy to set up too. The new user interface is brilliant and really easy to use. I also like that it pre-checks the sites that are listed in a google search. If they re safe a green tick appears next to them even before you ve clicked on it.

This is the cheapest I ve seen it for here on Amazon. The same product will cost you 40 plus on the Bullguard website. So this is a bargain. Forget about all this free internet security you can pick up across the net. With the increase in shopping online and internet banking you ve just got to have a proper security package. This is a one year license for upto three PC s and the user interface has a countdown timer so you know exactly how many days you have left before you have to renew your subscription. Bullguard is the business for me and many of my friends and family.

Just bought another one of these for my new notebook which was pre-loaded with the dreaded Norton which I uninstalled asap. It took literally 3mins to enter the product key and be up and running.

The last one is still protecting 3 computers brilliantly and stopping everything in it s tracks.

First class security in my opinion folks.A few years back, my father bought a Compaq laptop that came with Windows bog-standard protection. I told him to buy a third-party package, because you can never have enough protection. So he did. And he updated it for a couple of years.

Just before Christmas 2011, his package expired, and he d just been made redundant from his job. He decided he didn t need to update it, as it wasn t worth it, as nothing had ever gone wrong before and now every penny mattered.

That s fair enough, I said, so I ll buy you a new package to keep it protected while you use it to look for new employment, and I handed him a crisp 20 note. If you want to spend more, let me know.

5 months later, he got a virus, and couldn t figure out how to remove it.

I was a little miffed, as I gave him the cash to buy some protection, assuming he had. He hadn t.

Turns out that he d put the 20 in his wallet, and forgotten all about buying an updated package.

I don t live near him, so I can t just pop around for a quick hello and look at his computer. Turns out the virus was pretty bad and started to limit his access to his machine, stop him using the internet and email, and other stuff I can t recall.

Because of the hassle, he decided to go out and buy a new laptop for 400.

Fortunately, he also found a new employment shortly afterwards.

It s now April 2013, and his newer laptop the one he spent 400 on has just succumbed to another virus. It s one that prevents you from actually doing anything after signing-in. I ve searched the internet for options, talked about this over the phone with him, tried a few methods, and still I can t help him.

So, he took the computer to a local computer retailer, who charged him 100 to clear and wipe off viruses.

So, in total, the lack of spending 20 and getting protected has already cost him 500. Let s just say he s learnt his lesson.

Don t do what my father did - just buy this for goodness sake and save yourself a lot of bother.I turned to this BullGuard Internet Security System when the Avira 2012 system I had previously would not work when I changed my Internet Provider from Orange to Virgin Media, annoying because I had only been using the Avira system for a few months but it did not get on with Virgin, would not let me online for more than a few minutes at a time - and then only when it felt like it. Two techies from Virgin could not fix it so the only alternative was to de-install and bin it.

BullGuard, which is a Gold Certificated Microsoft Partner, whatever that is, is reasonably priced, quick and easy to install and the license covers three computers for a year each. I have not noticed any slowing down since installation and my daughter tells me it does not affect her gaming or Sims usage when she uses the Game Mode.

The system comes with the usual Antivirus, Firewall, Spamfilter, Safe browsing Parental Control if needed. A Vulnerability Scanner locates old and vulnerable software blocking it to any potential hacker, a PC Tune Up is constantly cleaning the computer to make sure no speed is lost and there is 5GB of online backup to keep important files, photos etc safe from crashes, damage and even theft. Online support is 24/7 but I cannot find a telephone number for help if I cannot get online - a complaint I had with Avira when their system would not let me get online. Another interesting BullGurad feature is that the user can decide how often the program reports it s findings, if at all. It also gives warnings about any potential phishling sites when you are using Facebook and secures all personal data such as passwords, card numbers etc.

All in all a pretty comprehensive package that is compatible with most newer Windows and Internet Explorer 6.0 or later packages but check first. BullGuard claim 98.6 malware detection rate, one of the highest recorded in the 2012 AV Comparatives Test.

If I do encounter any problems in the future I will come back and edit this review.

ALMOST A YEAR LATER - No problems, no malware, nothing untoward or nasty, product does what it says and has kept me clean for nearly a year. Company have offered me a decent discount to renew before cover expires.

This is my second year using this anti virus and to date it s working to satisfaction. When it was due for renewal Bullguard informed me, but they wanted a silly renewal fee, twice as much so I bought this from amazon for 16.98 and it s the same software. I just deleted the old version and reinstalled this one, no problems.

Yes, it all seemed OK, appeared to function well. Until it crashed a job I was doing two days ago. I still haven t got back to it -- to start a spreadsheet from the beginning again. What occurred was as follows:-

I wanted to generate the automatic totaling of a column and couldn t remember the command so asked help. That offered me a demo -- all part of the Lotus 1-2-3 programme. Bullguard promptly shut everything down claiming a dangerous file. I could do exactly nothing -- neither mouse nor keyboard functioned. I had to switch off mains power, re-boot and re-load the other files with which I had been working. Somehow I doubt if IBM have installed gremlins within one of their programmes. I have yet to contact Bullguard on this matter.

All other suites that I have used either professionally or privately have fallen down critically in one or more areas. For example: Norton is too intrusive, Avira seems to lag with updates, AVG free version of limited use.

Bullguard Internet Security was easy and straightforward to install which isn t the case with some software and seems to give good protection my PC without slowing it down as I have formerly found with Norton. There is a basic menu for those that don t want to fiddle with default settings which will protect your PC from virus, give firewall protection for internet surfing as well as scan incoming and outgoing email. There is an advanced feature for those that want to tinker. There is also the availability of online storage if you want it but I tend not to use these facilities and just have several external hard drives I back my stuff onto. All in all quite pleased with it.

I had been happily using Norton Internet Security for several years but it all went wrong with NIS 2012 with my computer regularly freezing up on shut down and also conflicts with Internet Explorer. Since switching to Bullguard Internet Security 2013 I have had no problems at all and I am absolutely delighted with it. If you are in any doubt then download the 60 day free trial version from the Bullguard website. I ve always used NORTON in the past but I got this for my son s PC as it was at such a great price. A simple download, easy to use interface, and no viruses so far. It did find a few lurking in the background which it cleaned up on the first sweep which was reassuring. Only issue is that it does slightly slow down the running of my sons PC. It s an older laptop running on vista so this could be why. However, it s no so slow as to affect the performance and at the price for this you can t really go wrong. I purchased a new PC with a pre loaded trial version of Bullguard V13. I was immediately impressed as it did exactly what it said on the box so when the Anti Virus expired on our lap top I replaced it with Bullguard. My trial version on the PC was also updated automatically by Bullguard straight away. It does what I want without offering bells whistles that when installed get everywhere and cant be removed. Straightforward installation removing installed Anti Virus as well.

I like the product and would happily recommend it.

The first installation was straight forward with no problems.

I bought this one to renew after my first year ran out and updating my licience was not straight forward as it took me 2 attempts over 2 days with the support chat line to get it sorted.

They need to sort out their pricing policy as on line renewal is around 50 and buying another new one is under 16 from Amazon.

I ve Had Bullguard since original PC came with it pre loaded. I now always get it from amazon and have found this to be the best place for price over the years. Comes with all the packaging when you only really need the cd key and can input straight on the pc i would recommended downloading the version from the website and using the cd key as that will be the most current version.

Selected Bullguard because it was rated by Which magazine. I was replacing my security package McAfee in which I had lost confidence, and also considered the annual charge to be excessive. I required some help from Bullguard help desk to get it installed. There were problems with conflicting files probably due to the uninstall of my existing security. I bought this as my subscription to Bull Guard 12 was due for renewal and it would have cost three times as much to renew via my Bull guard account than to buy a new copy.

I had a lot of hassle getting Bull guard to accept new license key to renew for another year had to contact their customer services three times before they accepted it.

It s only given 1 false positive in the past year which is good enough for me. The online renewal price from Bullguard was 50 and the boxed discs were less than 20, so save yourselves some money and have a nice big cardboard box to recycle into the bargain.

I have been using Bullguard for my pc for years now. Definitely a brilliant product and very easy to use. I have used Bullguard for many years and always purchase it from Amazon as it it about a third of the price you would pay if you purchased directly from Bullguard. It is very easy to install/update and if you have any trouble their always someone at the end of LiveChat that helps you through it. Would recommend it to everyone. I bought this after reading some reviews. I used to use Kaspersky, but I found the computer ran slowly with it. As I have a quad core PC, the slowdown was noticeable. After installing, the pc booted in half the time it took with Kaspersky, a hell of a difference. It is simple to use and install.It also does not slow down your computer in the way so many other anti-virus programs do.

This was easy to install and didn t take to long, it is difficult to rate this as you have no idea when or if it is updating etc. however, when you check, it is always up to date and running silently in the background, so must be working fine, it does not appear to slow your system down either which is good.

There s no outstanding bells and whistles in this suite but it does cover all the necessities.
